Trainer Nea

NEA S. WHEELER, PHD, CPT, A-CPT

I have always been intensely interested in longevity with high quality of life. This lifelong passion, which has kept my weight and energy level stable for more than three decades, prompted me to make a career change to personal training after nineteen years as a chemist!

I received my formal exercise education in a rigorous one-year program from National Personal Training Institute (NPTI http://nptifitness.com/) in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.

Our classroom and gym training at NPTI covered basic nutrition, exercise anatomy & physiology, program design, exercise equipment, and the importance of using proper form to achieve results and avoid injury.

The athlete-instructors at NPTI raised my standards and expectations for a lifetime of fitness and wellness to new heights! In 2006, when I completed my coursework with high marks in both the classroom and the gym, NPTI awarded me a diploma & certification in personal training.

In 2007, I was awarded A-CPT (Advanced Certified Personal Trainer) from TWCC (Training & Wellness Certification Commission).

Since that time I have been broadening and deepening my knowledge and skills through university courses and continuing education classes so that I will be able to deliver the best workouts and current information to my clients.

I am a member of IDEA Health & Fitness Association, and I attend one of their conferences every year to keep current in my profession. These meetings have also afforded the opportunity to take workshops from outstanding professional colleagues from around the USA and other countries as well.
