My weight training career began in my freshman year of high school when I was
required to take weight training as a class to prepare myself for the next
season of football on both the JV and Varsity levels. After completing 4 years
of college and achieving a Bachelors degree while a captain of my lacrosse team
for two of those years, I would soon find out that sitting behind a desk for 8
hours plus, in the real world, was not the job for me. I began working my first
desk job as an employee of an insurance company, while training some part time
hours at Gold’s Gym. A few years later I would soon transition over into a full
time fitness professional.
My training style involves a unique form of basic exercises to create full body
workouts, for all levels of fitness enthusiasts. The higher your fitness level,
the more complex the exercises will become.
My background consists of 5 high school varsity level sports (football,
basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, & track & field), and 3 collegiate level sports
(football, lacrosse, & cross country) as well. In addition, I hold a bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration from Shenandoah University, and have been an
active personal trainer since 2003. Currently, I take part in single track
mountain biking and racing, I also partake in what is know as “free running/pakour”,
and I always train myself from fall to winter for “steep & deep” snowboard
riding.
By leading a physically active life, and continuing to play competitively, helps
me to “practice what I preach”, which serve as a good example to those less
active. In addition, being a part of several different athletic events, and
learning how the body moves in free space, allows me to analyze a person’s
stability and mobility, to design the appropriate fitness program for any and
all individuals.
